Paulo Varela Gomes is an Architectural historian based in Coimbra, Portugal. He was, till recently, Director of Fundacao Oriente India at Panjim, Goa. He was also the presenter of two television documentary series for Portuguese television, one of which was about the Portuguese in India (O Mundo de Cá, 1995).
